Wedding Weekend 

Sunset Boat Cruise (Friday, July 10) Light &amp; Breezy- We recommend light, breezy attire for the sunset cruise, think summer dresses, linen, and soft, light colors like white, cream, or pastels. This is just a suggestion, so please wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. Welcome Lunch (Saturday, July 11 – El Tribut) Dressy Casual- Think polished yet relaxed summer attire.- Gentlemen may wear collared button-down shirts paired with dress pants or chinos. Sport coats are welcome, but not required. Ties are optional. Please avoid, jeans, shorts, and athletic wear.- Ladies may wear sundresses or midi dresses.- The lunch will take place at a restaurant overlooking the beach (not directly on it), so regular dress shoes and heels are perfectly fine.- If you choose to stroll along the beach afterward, you can simply remove your shoes. Wedding Day (Sunday, July 12 – La Baronia) Formal Attire- Gentlemen should wear suits with ties. Linen suits are welcome for comfort in the Spanish summer, though traditional suits are perfectly appropriate.- Ladies may wear floor-length gowns, midi dresses, or elegant cocktail dresses.- Color Palette: Our color palette is inspired by vibrant tropical sunset tones, think bright shades of pink, coral, red, and orange. Guests are welcome to wear these colors if they’d like, but it’s absolutely not required.- Shoes: The ceremony will take place outdoors on a pebble-like surface, so stilettos are not recommended. Block heels, wedges, or dressy flats are best. What to bring:- Sunglasses- A wrap or light layer for the evening, as temperatures may cool slightly after sunset. A note on the weather: Barcelona is warm in July, with average temperatures around 85°F (27–29°C) during the day and mid-70s in the evening. Lightweight, breathable fabrics are strongly encouraged for comfort. Many venues and smaller shops do not have strong air-conditioning, so it can feel quite warm throughout the day. If you tend to run hot, we recommend bringing a small, portable fan for added comfort.

Q + A

Where to stay: You are welcome to stay anywhere you’d like in Barcelona. For your convenience, we’ve reserved a room block at Hotel Negresco Princess, a beautiful 4-star hotel in the heart of the city. As guests will be staying across different areas, we recommend choosing accommodations within walking distance of Plaça de Catalunya—Barcelona’s central square, located between the Eixample and Gothic Quarter. This will serve as the designated pickup and drop-off location for wedding transportation to and from La Baronia. You’re also welcome to stay at Sofitel Barcelona Skipper (this is located near the welcome lunch at El Tribut) or any hotel or Airbnb that best suits your plans. Please note that all wedding transportation will depart from Plaça de Catalunya. If you choose to stay farther away, you will need to arrange transportation to and from the pickup location. Rideshare services are readily available throughout the city.

This is a 4-star hotel choice where a lot of Melanie's family will be staying. It is walking distance to the wedding bus pickup spot.

El Avenida Palace

We have reserved a hotel block at the Hotel Negresco Princess hotel which is a 4-star hotel. This boutique-style property has a modern design, rooftop pool, and central location (Eixample). This hotel is known for good service, clean rooms, and a trendy feel. It was constucted in 2015. Great for guests who want to explore the city on foot; this hotel is walkable to Sagrada Família! Prices range from $200-$250 per night and when you use the weddding block code, you will receive 10% off your booking.

Negresco Princess

Another option is the Sofitel Barcelona Skipper, a 5-star beachfront hotel in the vibrant Barceloneta district. Blending French sophistication with Mediterranean style, it features elegant rooms, two outdoor pools with sea views, and exceptional dining. Guests will enjoy being steps from the beach, marina, and seaside restaurants — and just a short walk from El Tribut, the location of our rehearsal lunch. The Gothic Quarter and city center are also easily reachable within minutes.

Sagrada Família Gaudí’s masterpiece is an iconic basilica still under construction after more than 140 years. Its towering spires and intricate facades are absolutely awe-inspiring—don’t miss the stained glass inside! Park Güell A whimsical hilltop park filled with colorful mosaics, quirky architecture, and sweeping views of the city. It’s one of Barcelona’s most unique and photo-worthy spots.

Casa Batlló &amp; Casa Milà (La Pedrera) Two of Gaudí’s most iconic residential buildings—known for their surreal, dreamlike designs. Casa Batlló, in particular, looks like something out of a fairytale.

Gothic Quarter (Barri Gòtic) Wander through narrow medieval alleys, stumble upon hidden squares, and admire centuries-old buildings and cathedrals—full of charm and history. Travel Planning

We met in January 2023 on a dating app in Atlanta. Winston swiped right on Melanie’s prompt: “Give me recommendations for Barcelona and Valencia, Spain”—she was planning her first trip abroad that spring. On our first date, we bonded over travel: her upcoming adventure to Spain, Winston’s journeys across 23 countries, and our hopes for the future. A few weeks later, Melanie casually invited Winston to visit her in Spain, where she’d be working abroad for five weeks. True to his adventurous spirit, he said yes. That spontaneous trip to Spain and Portugal marked the beginning of our relationship—and a shared love of travel. Since then, we’ve explored nine countries together, built a home base in Atlanta, and filled our lives with cooking, travel google docs, dog fostering, and cozy nights in. Winston proposed to Melanie on their second trip to Africa in February 2025. It only felt right to celebrate our next adventure with a destination wedding in a place that holds so much meaning for our story—and to bring together all the people we love: our family and friends from the U.S., Winston’s Venezuelan family living in Spain and Italy, and those still in Venezuela. We can’t wait to raise a glass of Cava, share a plate (or three) of tapas, and celebrate love in beautiful Barcelona with all of you!
